This is a remake version of the NES game at the year of 1986, The Legend of Zelda. This game was created as a course project for EECS 494 Intro to Game Dev at the University of Michigan by the Meow Studio.
In addition to the original game, we add our own custom level and mechanic. You could press "4" to enter it. Our custom level features a long runway-shaped dungeon, with light green and dark blue tiles bringing a gloomy sense. Multiple kinds of enemies appear in this new level, such as stalfos, wallmasters, blade trape. We deliberately place a relatively large number of wallmasters in the new level to create a tenser sense. For the custom mechanic, we introduce the timer and the collapse-able tiles. As the player runs through the dungeon in the custom level, tiles behind him will fade out to black, meaning that these tiles are collapsing. If the player accidentally steps on a tile that has “collapsed”, then he will be brought back to the starting scene. Also, a timer will be counting down the time as the player rushes through the level. These newly-introduced elements, timer, collapse-able tiles, as well as the multiple enemies in this new level, altogether create tension, anxiety, and a sense of being chased, a sense for the player, which will likely bring a bigger sense of accomplishment if they win the game.
Instructions:
1. Use the arrow keys to move the player.
2. Use space key to change alt weapons.
3. Use keys "z" / "x" for attack.
4. Use key "4" to transform to custom level.
5. Use key "1" to enter invincibility mode.
